A cartridge drive can read and manipulate data on a disk cartridge. Typically occupying an internal drive bay, it may also be an external unit, connected to the computer through |cables|. The drive uses |read-write heads| to recognize and manipulate the magnetic patterns on the media, similar to a |hard drive|. Common cartridge disk drive systems are the Bernoulli and SyQuest systems.
